Hodges Dental team 2024 had a wonderful week in Honduras. Sixteen team members provided services (8 from the USA, 7 from Honduras and one team member from Guatemala). They were joined by 5 Honduran student nurses. This year’s trip was very fulfilling, as in addition to the many usual patients and school children who received dental care, fluoride treatment and dental education, our Honduran medical director arranged to have children from the Prograka Amigos Para Sempre come to the clinic for care. These children had significant dental needs and were surrounded by compassionate dental staff providing hugs and support despite the language barrier. Over 384 school children were seen and treated! New this year is that they were able to provide dentures to many people. There were many happy memories and smiles from staff and patients!
